Hi Everyone!
I just signed up for my first half marathon (Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon in Vegas) and I’m nervous, excited and scared to death all at the same time. I’ve never been a runner, in fact I’ve always hated running, but I make myself do it because it’s good for me. Kinda like taking vitamins. Only usually with vitamins, I get it over with in under a minute. With running, I’m cursing at myself the entire time, thinking “Why the hell are you doing this to yourself??”
Anyway, this is it. It’s official. I’ve received some training tips from some friends and a schedule, which is like reading a different language. It’s so hard to decipher. Oh yeah and XTRAIN? I hate biking too, for the record.
I appreciate any tips for new runners, especially those runners who hate to run! Maybe I’ll buy myself a pair of pink running shoes. Wish me luck!
